NTS mindful of elderly pedestrians' safety

To support the territory-wide Pedestrian Safety Campaign from March 1 to 7, the Road Safety Council and the Road Safety Team of New Territories South jointly held the "Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Campaign Kick-off Ceremony cum Bus Parade in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District" on March 1. Among the officiating guests were chairmen of the Road Safety Campaign Committee and the Tsuen Wan Transportation and Traffic Committee, Chief Superintendent (CSP) Traffic Headquarters Stephen Verralls and Senior Superintendent (SSP) Traffic New Territories South Yip Kin-chau.

The event attracted 200 elderly who helped hammer road safety message home with a drama and a Chinese opera. The event concluded with a bus parade in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing, with CSP Verralls and SSP Yip leading elderly representatives and other stakeholders in carrying out education and publicity activities.
