Attentive Driving Kick-off Ceremony and Light Rail and MTR Bus Road Safety Campaign successfully held

The Road Safety Council (RSC) and New Territories North Traffic Headquarters of the Hong Kong Police Force jointly held the Attentive Driving Kick-off Ceremony and Light Rail and MTR Bus Road Safety Campaign at Siu Hong Station this afternoon (November 5).

The event successfully spread the messages of driving attentively and road safety to the public, and featured a rich programme of performances and games. The attractions included a dance performance by the Mabel Fong School of Ballet and Music, a magic performance by Keanu Ho, and road safety message dissemination and singing by singers Phil Lam, Mischa Ip and Tang Siu-hau and artistes Mark Cheung and Anna Ng. The RSC also took the opportunity to have artistes Jerry Lamb and Lily Hong appointed by the Chairlady of the Road Safety Campaign Committee, Miss Ma Ka-wai, as Road Safety Ambassadors to promote road safety messages. 

Today's ceremony was officiated by the Chairlady of the Road Safety Campaign Committee, Miss Ma Ka-wai; the Regional Commander of New Territories North, Mr Kwok Ho-fai; the Head of Operating - West Region of the MTR Corporation, Mr Cheung Chi-keung; the Regional Commander of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (New Territories North Region), Mr Lai Tin-cheung; the Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee of the Tuen Mun District Council, Mr So Shiu-shing; the Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee of the Yuen Long District Council, Mr Ching Chan-ming; the Acting Chief Engineer (Railways) of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Mr Wong Lap-chi; Principal Transport Officer (Bus and Railway) of the Transport Department Mr Patrick Wong; and Assistant District Officer (Tuen Mun) Miss Joanna Tsui.
