| Before
crossing a road |
 |
Allow more
time to reach your destination: Do not rush. |
 |
Choose the
crossing facilities, i.e.: footbridge, pedestrian subway,
zebra crossing & light signal crossing. |
 |
Find a safe location to cross
the road if no crossing facility is available. |
 |
Do not climb
over/through the kerbside fence/central reserve
onto the carriageway. |
 |
Do not cross
- when a vehicle is coming; |
 |
Do not cross
- when the light signal crossing is RED/flashing GREEN; |
 |
Look RIGHT
& LEFT at least twice. |
 |
NO vehicle/
vehicle STOPPED, then cross. |

| "Be
Alert" when crossing |
 |
Look and
listen to approaching vehicle. |
 |
Do not RUN. |
 |
Cross in
a straight line. |
 |
When the
light signal crossing is GREEN and start flashing, keep
going at a steady pace to reach the opposite side of the
crossing or a central refuge island. |

Do not remain
on a crossing road longer than is necessary. |
 |
Follow the
direction of a police officer/traffic warden in uniform
or school crossing patrol. |
