Owing to the nature of work, the time which professional drivers stay on the road is much longer than other road users. Therefore, professional drivers should pay attention to the following points in addition to the general rules which drivers should observe:

Before you drive:
Have enough sleep and rest before you drive. Do not work for a long time continuously.
Do not drink or take drugs before you drive.
Check your vehicle everyday. Use appropriate spare parts and keep maintenance regularly.
When you are driving:
Drive attentively and stay alert to the road condition.
Alight and observe the road condition before reversing if your vehicle is large. Ask others to give signal if possible.
Check around the vehicle to see if anybody or any goods is nearby before you leave to ensure safety after unloading.
Do not smoke in or near a vehicle carrying inflammable or explosive goods.
Passengers should be carried only on properly provided and secured seats. Passengers should not sit on loads or in the load-carrying part of the vehicle.
