Road Safety Council Publicity and Campaigns in 2017

January

• On 20 January, the ‘Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Quiz Competition (Final)’ (《香江暖流》長者道路安全問答比賽 - 決賽 ) was co-organised with Radio Television Hong Kong.

• Mounted 60 banners bearing messages of Anti–Drink Driving, and Anti–Drug Driving on footbridges and flyovers throughout Hong Kong.

• Displayed posters and pictures on the five main road safety themes in a number of MTR Community Art Galleries.

• Broadcast assorted road safety messages on various radio channels.

• Displayed Anti–Drink Driving stickers on 399 parking meters.

• Two bilingual Road Safety TV APIs – (1) Elderly Pedestrian Safety (「長者行人安全」), and (2) No distraction. Pedestrian should pay attention to the way ahead. (「行人要專注 使用道路勿分心」) were broadcast on the two video walls in Victoria Park and Urban Council Centenary Garden.

 

February

• From 16 February, a new radio API on the theme of the Two-second Braking Rule (行車保持至少兩秒距離的電台宣傳聲帶) was broadcast on radio channels.

• On 18 February, the ‘North Point Pak Fuk Road Safety Town Open Day cum Opening Ceremony’ (「北角百福道交通安全城開放日暨開幕典禮」) was conducted jointly with Hong Kong Island Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force at Pak Fuk Road Safety Town.

 

June

• On 1 June, the ‘Safe Cycling Training Programme’ (單車安全訓練計劃) was launched, to promote safe cycling to primary and secondary school students, with 60-70 training classes delivered.

• On 20 June, the ‘Elderly Pedestrian Safety Tour in Hong Kong Island’ (「長者道路安全巡禮」) was conducted jointly with Hong Kong Island Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force at Siu Sai Wan Community Hall.

 

July

• On 4 July, the ‘Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Quiz Competition 2017 Kick-off Ceremony’ (《香江暖流》長者道路安全問答比賽 2017 啟動禮) was co-organised with Radio Television Hong Kong.

 

November

• On 1 November, the ‘Road Safety Council 44th Anniversary Ceremony cum Together We Make Hong Kong Roads Safer Campaign’(道路安全議會第四十四周年典禮暨香港道路安全齊共建推展禮 –道路安全第一日) was held at the Temple Mall North in Wong Tai Sin.

• On 5 November, the ‘Attentive Driving Kick-off Ceremony and Light Rail and MTR Bus Road Safety Campaign’ (「專注駕駛推展禮」暨「輕鐵及港鐵巴士道路安全運動」) was conducted jointly with New Territories North Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force in Siu Hong.

• On 12 November, the ‘Tsuen Wan District Road Safety Carnival’ (荃灣區道路安全嘉年華) was conducted jointly with New Territories South Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force at Sha Tsui Road Playground in Tsuen Wan.

 

December

• From 4 December, a new TV API and radio API on the theme of ‘Be Attentive To Road Works, Stay Alert While Driving’ (道路工程要注意 時刻警覺莫遲疑 電視宣傳片及電台宣傳聲帶) was broadcast on TV and radio channels.

• From 15 December, Cycling Safety, Anti–Drink Driving, Anti–Drug Driving and Driving Attentively messages were displayed on 80 bus bodies for three weeks.

• On 20 December, the ‘Smart Driving Bus Parade 2017’ (「醒目駕駛巴士巡遊2017」) was conducted jointly with Traffic Kowloon West of the Hong Kong Police Force at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui.
