Road Safety Council Publicity and Campaigns in 2012

February

• Mounted safe cycling messages on taxi bodies, aimed at cyclists riding on the carriageway.

 

March

• Broadcast a message to “wear protective gear when cycling” through radio channels.

• Two new anti-drug driving TV APIs aired.

• Conducted a bus parade and leaflet distribution jointly with Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District Councils, promoting elderly pedestrian safety in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing.

•Posted anti-drug driving stickers on parking meters in entertainment districts throughout the territory.

 

May

• Conducted a bus parade and leaflet distribution jointly with Yuen Long District and the Road Safety Patrol, promoting elderly pedestrian safety in Yuen Long.

• Broadcast various road safety themes through radio channels.

 

June

• Promoted the anti-drug driving message on the Yahoo website.

 

July

• Held the “Wise Ride” Safe Cycling Promotion jointly with Sha Tin District Council at Shatin Park.

 

September

• Held the ‘RSC Summer Safe Cycling Campaign Kick-off Ceremony’ at Wong Tai Sin Cycling Park.

• Conducted an intensive cycling training programme to promote safe cycling among primary and secondary school students.

 

October

• Held the Annual Ceremony [what’s this?] at the shopping arcade of Olympian City 2, Tai Kok Tsui. On display were more than 1,000 ‘Mr Egg’ plastic figures, designed by members of various youth organisations, schools, community centres and arts troupes.

 

December

• New designs of anti-drink driving and anti-drug driving banners were mounted on footbridges and flyovers.

• Held the “anti-drink driving kick-off ceremony” at the Hardrock Café in Lan Kwai Fong on 14 December 2012.

• Promoted the anti-drink driving message through radio and mobile applications.

• Displayed bus body advertisements warning against drink driving, during the holiday season from Christmas 2012 to Lunar New Year 2013.
