Road Safety Council Publicity and Campaigns in 2016

January

• From 11 January, the new Radio API with the theme of Secure Loading for Vehicles (穩固載貨的電台宣傳聲帶) was broadcast on radio channels.

• From 12 January, “Anti–Drink Driving”, “Anti–Drug Driving” and “Driving Attentively” messages were displayed on 150 bus bodies.

• On 21 January, the ‘Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Quiz Competition (Final)’ (《香江暖流》長者道路安全問答比賽 - 決賽 ) was co-organised with Radio Television Hong Kong.

• Mounted 60 banners bearing messages of “Anti–Drink Driving”, and” Anti–Drug Driving” on footbridges and flyovers throughout Hong Kong.

• Displayed posters of the five main road safety themes in a number of MTR Community Art Galleries.

• Broadcast various road safety messages on different radio channels.

• Displayed “Anti–Drink Driving” stickers on 399 parking meters.

• Three bilingual Road Safety TV APIs - (1) “Drug driving. You won’t get away with it”(「毒後駕駛 不可容忍」), (2) “Check the side effects of your drug medication before you drive” 「藥後駕駛 危害生命」), and (3) “If you drink, don’t drive!”(「切勿酒後駕駛」) were broadcast on the two video walls in Victoria Park and Urban Council Centenary Garden.

 

February

• On 28 February, the “Attentive Driving Carnival cum Light Rail & MTR Bus Road Safety Campaign” (「專注駕駛嘉年華暨輕鐵及港鐵巴士道路安全運動」) was conducted jointly with New Territories North Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force in Tuen Mun.

 

June

• On 30 June, the “Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Quiz Competition 2016-2017 Kick-off Ceremony” (《香江暖流》長者道路安全問答比賽 2016-2017 啟動禮) was co-organised with Radio Television Hong Kong.

• On 30 June, the MV of the Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Quiz Competition 2016-2017 theme song (做個精叻過路人) was premiered in the Elderly Pedestrian Road Safety Quiz Competition 2016-2017 Kick-off Ceremony’ and was uploaded onto the RTHK YouTube channel for sharing.

 

July

On 1 July, the Safe Cycling Training Programme (單車安全訓練計劃) was kicked off to promote safe cycling to primary and secondary school students with 60-80 training classes delivered.

 

September

• On 18 September, the “Wise Ride 2016 Safe Cycling Promotion Campaign” (智 Ride 單車安全推廣日) was conducted jointly with New Territories South Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force at Pak Shek Kok Promenade, Shatin.

• On 24 September, the “Road Safety Council 43rd Anniversary Ceremony cum Student Pedestrian Safety Kick-off Ceremony”(道路安全議會第四十三周年典禮暨學童行人安全二零一六推展禮 – 道路安全童樂日) was held at the Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill. The student pedestrian safety mini film “Starting Point of Road Safety” (道路安全的起點) was premiered during the ceremony.

 

October

• On 9 October, the “No Drug Driving and No Drink Driving Bus Parade”(「不藥駕 不毒駕 不酒後駕駛巴士巡遊」) was conducted jointly with Traffic Kowloon West of the Hong Kong Police Force at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui.

 

November

• On 29 November, the “Attentive Driving Carnival cum Light Rail & MTR Bus Road Safety Campaign”(專注駕駛嘉年華暨輕鐵及港鐵巴士道路安全運動」) was conducted jointly with New Territories North Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force in Tuen Mun.

 

December

• On 10 December, the “Sau Mau Ping Road Safety Town Open Day and Kowloon East Region Secondary School Student Road Safety Logo Competition Prize Presentation Ceremony” (「秀茂坪交通安全城開放日暨東九龍區中學生『一眼關七醒目仔』道路安全標誌設計比賽頒獎典禮」) was conducted jointly with Kowloon East Road Safety Team of Hong Kong Police Force in Sau Mau Ping Road Safety Town.

 

November

• From 9 November, three bilingual Road Safety TV APIs - (1) ‘Drug driving. You won’t get away with it’, (2) ‘Check the side effects of your drug medication before you drive’, and (3) ‘If you drink, don’t drive!’ were broadcast on the two video walls in Victoria Park and Urban Council Centenary Garden for six months.

• On 22 November, the ‘Road Safety Council 42nd Anniversary Ceremony cum Anti–Drink Driving, Anti–Drug Driving and Driving Attentively Road Safety Campaign’ was held at the Amphitheatre in Stanley Plaza.
