Learner Drivers

Licensed driving instructor –
Learner drivers, including the mandatory motorcycle courses, must not learn to drive without a licensed driving instructor as stated by the Laws of Hong Kong.
Time for learning to drive –
Learner drivers may learn to drive only at a certain times of the day as announced by the Transport Department. The restriction does not apply to training within the range of designated driving schools.
Learner driver under instruction –
the vehicle must be fitted with “L-plates” and clearly displayed at both the front and tail.
One should choose to learn to drive from a driving school of reputation with good instructors and facilities, in order to build up a solid foundation of safe and responsible driving.
