Manoeuvring Skills
- Keep your eyes scanning around: up ahead, from one side of the road to another, both the center and side mirrors. The scanning cycles should be carried out every 5 to 8 seconds.
- Reversing – Make sure to choose the proper and safe place to reverse, for larger vehicles (such as articulated vehicles), reverse only under the assistance of a ground personnel who could clearly observe the traffic and give instructions to the driver.
- Before turning, slow down to a speed that would allow the driver to complete the turn without stopping. Start return steering and speed up in the middle of the turn.
- If loss of traction occurs when turning, do not brake. Ease off the accelerator to regain traction and speed up gradually afterwards.
